The service (サービス)
Japan has the best service in the world. It isn't even a contest. It doesn't matter where you are--McDonald's, the Ritz, a gas station. People treat you like you're royalty, with their honorifics and 90-degree bows and such. Besides that, they're genuinely interested in helping you. American salespeople could learn a thing or twelve.
